Big Mountain Restaurant
location - North-west - between Haad-Chao-Pao and Haad-Son opposite Rock Garden resort
Price - Cheap
This nice and simple restaurant is built on a wooden terrace overlooking the ocean, and Offers a variety of vegeterian, vegan and health-oriented versions of popular thai dishes, with ingridients such as home-made yughurt, home made honey from the jungle, brown sugar, brown rice, olive oil and ghee (clarified butter).
Very popular are the fruit and vegetable shakes which include carrot and beetroot.
Also available is food for carnivores, as well as seafood, pizzas, Indian food (chapatti, dhal and thali), and even some vegan israeli food ( falafel and humus)

Italian

Al Colloseo
Location - Haad-Rin sunrise beach, Sea-garden alley, close to drop-in bar (South of Koh PhaNgan)
Price - Moderate to Expensive
This fancy restaurant is owned by an italian and features huge photos of famous italian landmarks and movie posters that contribute to the genuine atmosphere. It offers a range of authentic italian dishes, such as thin-crust pizza, home-made or imported pasta, a selection of fish and seafood, quality imported steaks and excellent deserts. There is also a selection of red and white wines.
The restaurant is an excellent choice for a special night out.

Casa Nostra
Location - Haad-Rin, across 7/11
Price - Cheap to Moderate
A small pizeria, owned and operated by two italians, offers pizzas, pastas and salads and is a great place for a quick meal.

Israeli

The Bite Bar and Restaurant
Location - Haad-Rin lake (South of Koh PhaNgan), down from Drop-In hotel
Price - Moderate
One of the first western restaurants in Haad-Rin, operating since 2001.
This cozy and laid-back restaurant is popular for its quiet and scenic location by the Haad-Rin lake, its variety of sitting arrangements (including hammocks) and the large portions of fresh quality food.
There is a range of israeli food, with some specialities such as meat balls with okra (lady fingers) in rich tomato sauce, as well as barbeque meat and italian pastas.
Vegeterians and vegans will enjoy the variety and size of cooked dishes, salads, dippings and toasts.
On Friday evening there is a traditional jewish buffet-style dinner (must register at least 2 days before) but people from other religions are also warmly welcomed, as most of the dishes are a speciality and served only at this ocassion.

Mexican

Bamboozle
Location - Haad-Rin, half way from sunset beach to sunrise beach
Price - Moderate
This cozy restaurant, set back away from the street on a large wooden terrace, with low tables and thai cusions.
The extensive menu offers a huge selection of mexican and spanish dishes with the option to order many combinations and small side-dishes.

Australian

Outback bar
Location - Haad-Rin, 50 meteres from the sunset pier
Price - Moderate to Expensive
Owned and operated by australians, this trendy restaurant boasts an extensive menu with australian specialities, british, western, thai and indian dishes, as well as a well-stocked bar.
A variety of sitting arrangements, professional pool tables, a big screen and tv sets that feature movies and sports, and huge paintings all around the restaurant, all contribute to an eclectic and vibrant atmosphere.

International

Sheesha
Location - Chaloklum (North of the island) on the main street, close to the pier
Price - Moderate
A very trendy design makes this lounge/restaurant an excellent choice for a night out or a day-time meal.
Smoke fruit flavored tobacco with the hand-painted sheesha/hooka or have a drink from the wide range of wine, beer and cocktails.
The food menu features international dishes and beach side Barbeque.

Japanese

Emotion of Sushi
Location - Haad-Rin, Sea-garden alley, close to drop-in bar
price - Moderate to Expensive
The only japanese restaurant in Koh PhaNgan is elegenatly decorated with japanese motifs and offers a selection of sushi and sashimi combinations.

Indian

Om Ganesh
Location - Haad-Rin sunset pier
Price - Moderate
Opened in 1997, this Nepali-owned restaurant offers a very wide range of vegeterian and non-vegeterian Indian dishes and some Nepali food as well.
The Thali sets are a great way to sample a few kinds of dishes for a very reasonable price.

Seafood

Kled-Kaeo
Location - south of Thong Sala
Price - Cheap to moderate
A very recommended Thai restaurant with a variety of excellent fish and seafood dishes. Great garden-area tables, some of them completely surrounded by vegetation.
